CHAMPIONSHIP-WINNING MANAGER BOBBY BROWN, TITANS AGREE TO MULTI-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION

October 20, 2026

Ottawa, ON - The Ottawa Titans Baseball Club, the defending Frontier League champions, announced today that the Club has signed field manager Bobby Brown to a multi-year contract extension.

The 52-year-old skipper guided the Titans to a franchise-record 57-44 record this past season, finishing second in the North Division and clinching their third playoff berth in the Club's five-year existence. In the playoffs, he led the team to an 8-1 record, capped off by the first championship in team history. The team swept through the first two rounds of the playoffs – defeating the New Jersey Jackals and New York Boulders – prior to defeating the Evansville Otters in four games to capture the title.

In 2026, the Titans got off to their best start in team history, winning ten of their first 14 games, becoming the first team in the loaded Atlantic Conference to reach ten victories. Shortly after the All-Star break through mid-August, the team strung together a consecutive unbeaten streak of ten series in a row. Returning several key contributors from the year’s past, Brown surrounded the veteran group of players with star-studded talent on both sides of the ball for a deep postseason run.

Offensively, Brown’s Club posted one of its best seasons in team history, with 99 home runs, 647 runs scored, 523 walks, 155 stolen bases, and a .382 on-base percentage. Pitching-wise, the team navigated their way through the regular season before tossing to a 2.02 ERA in the postseason. In the nine playoff games, Titans starters tossed at least six innings in five games, getting credit for quality starts in each appearance.

“I’m incredibly grateful to Sam, Regan, Martin, and the entire Titans organization for their continued trust and support,” said Bobby Brown, Field Manager of the Ottawa Titans. “Winning a championship is something everyone in this game works toward, and to accomplish that with this group in Ottawa makes it especially meaningful. Ottawa has become a special place for me, and I’m proud of what we’ve built together and excited to continue working toward bringing more success to our fans and this community for years to come.”

The 2026 resurgence followed an impressive run that capped off the 2025 campaign, in which the Club went 40-21 down the stretch, just missing out on the playoffs after an 11-24 start. That year, the Titans put together a franchise record with 13 consecutive series unbeaten.

Since taking the helm, Brown has guided the Club to multiple playoff appearances (2022, 2024, and 2026) – the most by one skipper in the modern era of Ottawa professional baseball.

Over five seasons at the helm in Canada’s Capital, the Titans own a 265-218 record under Brown – good enough for a .549 winning percentage, three playoff berths, and a championship.

Before accepting the Titans managerial position, Brown served as the hitting coach for the Pioneer League champion Missoula PaddleHeads in 2021 – guiding the team to the best record in all of professional baseball. Pre-pandemic, he managed seven seasons in the American Association with stops in Amarillo and Lincoln. Brown was tabbed as the American Association Manager of the Year in 2017, guiding the Saltdogs to a Central Division championship.

“Bobby has played a tremendous role in shaping the identity, culture, and success of the Ottawa Titans,” said Regan Katz, Vice President and COO of the Ottawa Titans. “His leadership, competitive mindset, and commitment to building a winning environment have been instrumental in bringing a championship to our city. As our organization continues to grow, maintaining continuity in key leadership positions is essential to achieving sustained success. Bobby understands the expectations we have for this team and shares our vision for the future, both on and off the field. This extension reflects our confidence in his ability to lead the team forward, and we’re thrilled to have him committed to the Titans as we continue raising the standard for our organization, our fans, and our community.”

Originally from San Luis Obispo, California, Brown played collegiately at the University of Oklahoma before beginning a 10-year professional playing career. From 1996 to 2005, he suited up for nine different teams, spending parts of three seasons in the Northern League with Winnipeg. Over 637 career games, Brown compiled a .301 batting average.

“Bobby’s impact on this organization goes well beyond the on-field success,” outlined Martin Boyce, General Manager of the Ottawa Titans. “His ability to recruit and develop players and bring a team together around a common goal has been a major part of our success. Having worked closely with Bobby over the years, I’ve seen firsthand the dedication he brings to the job every day. I’m thrilled to have him leading our team for years to come, and I look forward to seeing what we can continue to accomplish together.”

Brown and the Titans are expected to announce their full 2027 coaching staff closer to the beginning of Spring Training in late April.
