COOPER MORGAN WINS PITCHER OF THE WEEK AWARD
AVON, OH – Pitcher Cooper Morgan struck out seven batters over 4.1 scoreless innings to earn the Québec Capitales their first Pitcher of the Week award this season.
Left-handed relief pitcher Cooper Morgan made four appearances this week, recording seven strikeouts over 4.1 scoreless innings. Morgan struck out two Ottawa Titans in a perfect eighth inning in the Capitales' 7-6 win on Tuesday. He pitched another clean eighth against Ottawa on Thursday, adding another strikeout.
Morgan closed out Québec’s 5-4 loss to the New York Boulders on Friday with another scoreless appearance, striking out two over 1.1 innings. He made his final appearance in Sunday’s loss, adding two more strikeouts. Morgan is the second relief pitcher to win Pitcher of the Week honors this season alongside New Jersey Jackals’ right-hander Leonardo Rodríguez (Week 7).
Morgan signed with Québec in March and is in his first season playing in North America. He pitched for Team Australia in the 2026 World Baseball Classic, earning the final two outs in the team’s loss to Japan. He pitched for the Adelaide Giants this past winter, who won the Claxton Shield as Australian Baseball League champions.
