KOBE FOSTER WINS PITCHER OF THE WEEK AWARD AGAIN

AVON, OH – Washington Wild Things left-handed pitcher Kobe Foster no-hit the New Jersey Jackals on Friday to take home his second-straight Pitcher of the Week award. Foster was perfect through 6.2 innings before Jackals infielder Felix Stevens reached on an error. Foster ended the game with 9.0 innings pitched, 14 strikeouts, and two walks. It was the League’s second no-hitter this season, following the combined effort of Grif Hughes, Nolan Thebiay, and Junior Cerda for the Evansville Otters on opening day.

The outing improved Foster’s already league-leading stats. He lowered his ERA to 0.62, his WHIP to 0.640, and is now the league leader in innings pitched (43.2). The Wild Things are 6-0 in games that Foster has started this year, and he’s now pitched back-to-back complete game shutouts.

Foster is in his fifth season with Washington and is the franchise leader in wins (35), innings pitched (397.3), and strikeouts (360). The southpaw earned an all-star nod in 2024 and was the League’s Rookie of the Year in 2022. He joined the Wild Things after graduating from Tennessee-Wesleyan University in 2022 and re-signed with Washington ahead of this season.
